An auction house in a Manhattan skyscraper in New York shows off the star piece of the night's auction: 'Sunflowers' by Vincent Van Gogh. The painting is one of the series painted in Arles, the South of France, by the artist adored by Japan. Until recently, there were thought to be seven paintings in the series, but last year, a new painting was freshly discovered in an old house in Arles, and its composition and colors are an exact match for the second that once resided in Ashiya, Japan. But surprisingly, art experts conclude that this painting is real. The Ashiya version owned by Koyata Yamamoto, a real life wealthy businessman, was supposedly destroyed by the fires of war, so does this mean that one of the two was a reproduction produced by Van Gogh himself? Then, the one on auction was bought at a record-breaking price by none other than Jirokichi Suzuki.

Jirokichi immediately opens a press conference, announcing that he will collect all seven paintings scattered around the world, and exhibit them as 'The Sunflowers Admired by Japan' in the Suzuki Financial Group's 'Lake Rock Museum' in Shinjuku. Conan and the Detective Boys also attentively watch the conference from the TV in Professor Agasa's house. Jirokichi states he has already contacted the owners around the world, and gained permission for exhibiting them, in exchange for furnishing them with the perfect security, preservation, and transport measures. Jirokichi lauds the specialists he has gathered to fulfill his side of the bargain, the 'Seven Samurai', and invites them on stage. But his laughter is cut short when a card flies through the air and slices into the stage. It was a heist notice with the logo of Kaitou Kid: a Kid Card. Kid then shows himself, pointing his card gun at the crowd, inciting panic and fleeing the scene. But he is pursued by one of the Seven Samurai, Detective Charlie, a security professional. However, when trapped in a corner of the skyscraper, Kid lets off a flash bomb, breaking the window and vanishing into the night sky.

A special plane decorated as the 'Sunflowers Jet' would carry the painting to Japan, along with Jirokichi, Sonoko, the Samurai, and as a special guest, a high-school detective who offered his help in the case: Shinichi Kudo. But just as the jet approaches Haneda Airport, the wall of the cargo hold explodes, the door is blown away, and the painting is carried away into the sky. The engines also end up exploding in the blast, and Sonoko and the others let out desperate screams as the jet goes into freefall. Meanwhile, the 7th Samurai, Kogoro Mori, is waiting with Ran and the others at Haneda Airport for the plane's arrival. But when they spot the plane, it is out of control and having difficulty making a landing. Ran is worried about Sonoko and the others aboard the plane. But then Kid is seen flying through the skies, painting in hand. As emergency vehicles gather around the barely-landed plane, Conan spies Kid. He runs through the airport trying to pursue him, but Kid only sneers and flies away. However, Conan successfully locates the painting Kid had hidden. The Samurai quickly examine it and attest that the painting is fine.

At Maizuru Bay, on the dawn of April 20,[1] a coast guard named Masaaki Kurata finds a suspicious boat during his patrol. Upon examining the inside of the boat, he discovers some explosives and immediately reports this to the Wakasa Coast Guard. The discovery quickly hits the news reports, where is it revealed that the boat contains data and components not found in Japan. It's also believed to have entered Japan illegally.

On the same morning, Conan Edogawa, Ran and Kogoro Mouri, Sonoko Suzuki and the Detective Boys board an Aegis Destroyer warship, Hotaka, to experience public military exercises after they've won the tickets. Before getting aboard, Conan receives a call from Professor Agasa, who's currently in Osaka together with Ai Haibara, via the newly added satellite-phone on his Stun-Gun Wristwatch. The professor wants to test if the new gadget is working properly, but doesn't forget to leave a quiz for the children before hanging up. After boarding the ship, the participants are gathered at a meeting room. While the Chief Navigator Fumitada Inoue is explaining about the exercise schedule, Ran mentions that her watch was broken and sent to be repaired. Mitsuhiko then lends her his waterproof radio-controlled watch, which sets itself at 5 AM and 5 PM every day according to radio transmitters. Suddenly, they hear a strange loud sound. Fumitada explains that it was just the sound of the pumping system operating, however, Conan wonders whether that was really the case. The participants are guided into the ship's Combat Information Center (CIC), where they are to witness a simulated anti-air combat. However, after having "shot down" the two set-up targets, the guards continue to detect a sonar response. An unidentified target of unknown nationality slowly approaches the ship. The tactical action officer quickly reports this to their captain, Yukio Tateishi, who orders them to search for the target, before heading to the CIC himself. Following him is a female Self-Defense Force (SDF) member, Nanami Fujii. The civilian participants are generally impressed by the realistic and tense atmosphere of the training, only Conan realizes that they're truly under attack. Yukio instructs the crews to prepare for an anti-submarine combat. They decide to fire a torpedo towards the unknown object. The ship is slightly hit with the shockwave caused by the impact. Conan then notices a sick boy with no accompanying adult. The crews are relieved that their target is nothing but a shipwreck. Fumitada announces to the participants that the "exercises" are now over.

A terrorist group invades a laboratory containing a deadly bacteria and destroys the lab in an explosion. They later announce via the internet that they have gained possession of the bacteria and declare themselves to be the Red Siamese Cats (赤いシャムネコ Akai Shamu Neko?), a terrorist group that was eradicated a decade ago.

Conan, Kogoro, Ran, Haibara, Professor Agasa, and the Detective Boys, are invited by Sonoko's uncle, Jirokichi Suzuki, to fly in his airship to witness his attempt at capturing Kaitou Kid by baiting him with the jewel called Lady Sky (レディー スカイ Redī Sukai?). Jirokichi sent a message to Kid saying, "The large jewel you yearn for, the Lady Sky, will be displayed on the sky deck of the airship, 'Bell Tree First' on August 14th, during it's test flight. If you wish to grasp this huge treasure in your palms, come between 13:00, the time we depart from Tokyo, and 19:00, our estimated time of arrival in Osaka." Kid replies to Jirokichi's challenge with a letter announcing he will steal Lady Sky when the airship approaches Osaka.

A man driving down a hillside road suddenly realizes that his car's brakes don't work. Traveling at a high speed, the Alfa romeo Brera crashes into a toll station. The man dies but leaves a mysterious dying message: "Tanabata kyo."

After a police conference about this case, Conan discovers a police officer walking out of the building and entering a black Porsche. He concludes that a Black Organization member is disguised as a police officer and has infiltrated the meeting. Conan is left wondering which officer is the fake and what interest the Black Organization has in the case.

Elsewhere, an unknown person with the classic black silhouette of a man reads the news on the computer and comments on how he is getting closer to his plan of a silent night.

Later, on the grounds outside the hall, Conan talks to Ran on the phone as Shinichi Kudo. He investigates and sees an old man carefully picking up a piano key from the piano destroyed from the explosion, and putting it in his pocket. The man leaves in a car. Ran invites him to go to a rehearsal with her at the concert hall that is opening soon. He declines and tells her she's meddling too much which causes her to angrily reply he will never be like Sherlock Holmes because he's tone deaf. Ran angrily hangs up.

At the rehearsal; Kogoro, Ran, Sonoko, and the Detective Boys are introduced to the people who will be performing for the Domoto Concert Hall opening; Kazuki Domoto the organist and former pianist, Takumi Fuwa the former piano tuner turned director of the hall, Hans Müller the professional organ tuner, Genya Domoto, son of Kazuki and pianist, Rara Chigusa the soprano, Shion Yuhane the violinist, and Reiko Akiba the main soprano. The kids ask Akiba to help their class choir to sing their school anthem. She agreed, but asks them to leave immediately, possibly to allow Shion, who is shy, perform without fear.

Later on, Ran is revealed to still be angry at Shinichi. Sonoko comments that this happened before and that she was angry at him for a week. She asks him how she forgave him. Ran remembers how long ago she walks with Shinichi home and remembers someone singing.

The next day, Ran plays the piano while the kids sing the Teitan Elementary School anthem. Akiba comments on their performance; Genta is too loud, Mitsuhiko is not putting enough feelings into it as he was staring at Haibara, Haibara is singing like an adult, Ayumi is perfect, and Conan is off key the whole time. She is revealed later to have perfect pitch. Genta steals a drink of Akiba's tea and suffers in agonizing pain.

At the hospital, the doctor says that Genta's throat is severe inflamed by chemicals and he will not be able to speak for about four days. The Detective Boys, Sonoko, and Akiba accompany Genta home. On the way home they are chased by a truck, at one of the turns Akiba takes a different route to get the truck away from them. She trips and is about to be run over until a taxi comes and the car turns. The culprit escapes.

The movie starts off with a robbery chase scene. The robbers are being chased by Miwako Sato and Wataru Takagi. They eventually meet and drive straight into each other, but the robbers are the first to flinch. They flip over and crash. As Takagi and Sato attend to them, the male says "Koumi Island" and "Jolly Roger" and then passes out.

Meanwhile, Kogoro Mouri gets a request from the head of tourism (Jouji Iwanaga) to go to Koumi Island for a case, so he brings Conan Edogawa, the Detective Boys, Professor Agasa, Ran Mouri, and Sonoko Suzuki with him. The first thing Conan notices is that there are a lot of treasure hunters there. Since the hotel is full, Iwanaga takes them to stay with a man named "Kazuo Mima". After they are all settled in, Iwanaga asks the group if they will participate in a treasure hunt. The Detective Boys all raise their hands (except Ai Haibara and Conan), but when he asks Mouri, he declines. The kids get their scavenger hunt map and clues while Iwanaga drops Ran and Sonoko at the diving shop.

The kids go and rent out bikes like Iwanaga told them to. While diving with the diving instructor Kimiko Yamaguchi, they see sharks circling around a small area. They soon find out that a man has died, and his friend is trying to fight off the sharks and bring him to land. The Detective Boys find out their first clue mainly because of Conan. Ai tells Conan secretly that she saw someone dead in a motor boat being brought to the island. So Conan and Ai go to see the body at the hospital and leave the rest of the kids to figure out the next puzzle.

Conan, Kogoro, Ran, and the Detective Boys are invited to visit a client in a hotel beside a theme park called Miracle land. Once they reach the hotel, a worker there brings them to a meeting room on the top floor and tells them to sit down in the chairs while he goes to get something. When he comes back he gives everyone an ID watch that allows free access to Miracle Land as well as free food and drinks.

Ran and the kids leave to enjoy the park while Kogoro works, but the hotel worker tells Conan to also stay. Kogoro's client appears on a television in the room and tells them they must solve a mystery. To make sure that they have to accept he explains that the ID watches, which Conan and Kogoro also have on, cannot come off and will explode if the culprit cannot be determined. He also tells them that they have GPS systems on them so if they are tampered with, or if Ran or the others leaves the park, or if Conan and Kogoro try to go to the police, then the watches will explode.

Strategy Above the Depths is the 9th movie in the Detective Conan franchise. It was released in Japan on April 9, 2005.

On the sea fifteen years ago, the ship got sunk down by hitting the iceberg. During this accident, a murder was committed. All the sailors escaped, except the seaman who found captain's body. Half a month ago, Yashiro got into a car accident.

The lady uses it in a play that she is in called "Josephine". During the day of the play, Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Detective Boys, Sonoko, and Professor Agasa go with him to see the play. While getting ready to play the part of Josephine, the kids look around the make up room. Kogoro notices that she is a beginner diver. Ayumi is interested in the cosmetics; she attempts to try one on but gets caught by the make-up artist, Sakai Natsuki.

Soon the other actors come in. There's Bunjiro Narusawa, Tenko Tajima, Iaso Shinjo, and Toru Ban. Ginzo Nakamori comes in after them. After arguing with each other, Nakamori introduces someone that Inspector Megure told him to bring. Shinichi Kudo comes in and everyone is shocked, especially Conan. Conan outbreaks, "He's not Shinichi-niichan!" Kogoro asks him how he knows that, and Conan almost told everyone, but stopped himself at the last second, responding nothing.

Inspector Nakamori pinches Shinichi's face and determines its the real Shinichi; Conan knows the reason he's not wearing a mask is because he looks like him. Nakamori pinches everyone's faces to make sure none of them is Kid. Shinichi tells everyone that he will investigate on his own and asks if Ran wants to come with him. Conan, determined not to let him be with her alone, begs Ran if he can come too. After checking all the doors with Ran, Shinichi goes off to see the view. Ran comments to Sonoko that something about Shinichi isn't right.

The Detective Boys are on their way to a camping trip with Agasa. On the way, they get a view of Mt. Fuji, the biggest mountain in Japan, and the newly constructed Nishitamashi Twin Tower Buildings, which are the tallest buildings in Japan. While looking outside, Mitsuhiko tells Agasa if they may pay a visit, and he agrees. They arrive at Auto Campgrounds where they finish eating rice bowls. Genta punishes Mitsuhiko for not finishing his rice, because the gods will punish him.

Nighttime comes and everyone is sleeping soundly in their tents except Genta and Haibara. Genta goes to the bathroom, and on the way back, he spots Haibara on the phone. Not suspecting anything, he runs back to the tent shivering. She talks to a mysterious person on the phone leaving her next location as the Twin Tower Buildings, and saying "he'll be there". Still nighttime, Gin and Vodka are seen in the Porsche 356A talking presumably to Haibara or perhaps listening in on her calls. They'll also be at the Nishitamashi towers.

On their way, Genta complains on not fitting in the back seat, forgetting he ate five bowls of rice for breakfast. Mitsuhiko decides to try and play the 30 seconds game. You count without looking at the timer, and whoever is closest to the time wins. Haibara and Agasa aren't going to play. Mitsuhiko goes first getting a time of 40 seconds, Conan gets closer with a time of 27 seconds, Genta counts 59 seconds, and Ayumi gets the perfect score of 30 seconds. Genta asks Haibara who she was talking to on the phone, and she replies he was dreaming. They finally come to the Nishitamashi Twin Tower Buildings, and not shortly after, Ran, Kogoro, and Sonoko arrive by taxi. Surprised, they decide to join each other as Kogoro's old friend from college, Mio Tokiwa, who owns the building. He was invited a week before the opening. Mio Tokiwa's secretary named Chinami Sawaguchi comes outside and greets them to take a quick tour of the building. She explains that all floors above 31st belong to the Tokiwa Corporation, and the showroom spans from the 2nd to the 3rd floor. Mitsuhiko explains to Ayumi that the Tokiwa Company deals with computer software, but are involved with everything concerning computers. At the game room, they meet the Tokiwa executive named Yoshiaki Hara, also a lead programmer who created a particular machine that can show the face of a person in ten years. Ayumi and Agasa take the first try. Agasa didn't change one bit, while Ayumi's photo looks beautiful. Genta and Mitsuhiko take the next seat as they turn into high-schoolers. Sonoko and Ran are next. Sonoko looks old, while Ran looks a bit like her mother Eri. Mitsuhiko and Ayumi look curious to Ran and Conan's reaction.

The Last Wizard of the Century is the 3rd movie in the Detective Conan franchise. It was released in Japan on April 17, 1999.

Yuya Kazami and Rei Furuya attempted to stop her escape and later engaged in a car chase on the Rainbow Bridge, with Shuichi Akai joining later. The car chase ended in a havoc, and Akai decided to shoot the tire of Curaçao vehicle, causing the car to crash and Curaçao drowned. She later surfaced at Touto Aquarium near the crash site.

The next day, the Detective Boys discovered Curaçao at Touto Aquarium. She suffered amnesia and her phone was broken as a result of the car crash the day prior. Conan retrieved the broken phone and take photos of Curaçao, then hand the phone to Dr. Agasa for recovery of data and the photo to Ran, who, in turn, turns them to Tokyo Metropolitan Police. The Detective Boys then decided to stay with Curaçao to help her regain the memory. After noticing the perfect darting skill and her swift act saving Genta from falling from high places, Haibara and Conan seems to believe that Curaçao is not an ordinary woman, and Haibara herself has a sense that Curaçao is likely to be another Black Organization agent. Meanwhile, Dr. Agasa attempted to recover the message from Curaçao's broken cell phone, and found out that Curaçao attempted to send the name of known NOC agent (Stout, Aquavit, Riesling, Bourbon/Furuya, and Kir/Hondo Hidemi) to the organization. Stout, Aquavit, Riesling were later killed by members of the Black Organization in London, Toronto and Berlin, respectively, and Furuya and Hidemi were held hostage in Tokyo. Curaçao also screamed the name of those NOC agent in front of the Detective Boys when the ferris wheel reached the top.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police later come and took Curaçao into custody, transferring her to the Police Hospital, but they were forced to surrender her to the Public Security Bureau as the Bureau believed Curaçao was the spy infiltrating the Bureau Office the day before. The Public Security Bureau, having become aware that Curaçao appears to react to certain event in Touto Aquarium, take her back to the Aquarium. The same night, the Black Organization, who arrived by the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey, knocked down the power of the ferris wheel and planned to intercept Curaçao when the ferris reached the top position. After Curaçao regained her memory by looking at the specific color pattern of projected lights, she knocked unconscious Yuya Kazami, who boarded the ferris wheel with her, and escape. The Black Organization attempted to detonate the bomb planted at the ferris wheel, but the bomb was disarmed by Furuya; they instead fire from the V-22, trying to kill Curaçao and destabilize the wheel to roll it. Akai, with the help of Conan and Furuya, was able to shoot down the V-22, and Conan attempted to stop the rolling wheel before it crushes to the aquarium. Curaçao, having noticed that the Detective Boys are in the rolling ferris wheel, crash a crane truck into the wheel, stopping it and saving the Detective Boys but causing the ferris wheel to crush to her death. With Curaçao admitting that the mail tampered by Dr. Agasa and sent from her broken cell phone that reads "Bourbon and Kir are clean" was sent by her own, the two were able to maintain their cover in the Black Organization.

Detective Conan: The Fourteenth Target (名探偵コナン 14番目の標的 Meitantei Konan: Jūyon-banme no Tāgetto) in Japan, is the second movie. It was released in Japanese theatres on April 18, 1998. The English version was released on DVD on November 20, 2007 by Funimation. The movie grossed ¥1.05 billion in Japan.

At the beginning of the movie, Ran has a dream of her mother, Eri, being shot. Ran later calls Eri and tells her of her dream. The scene then briefly changes to a scene of a jail, where a man named Jo Murakami holds out a notebook that says, "Beika City, Kogoro Mouri." The scene transistions again to the Detective Boys waiting on a bench for Professor Agasa. While waiting, Ayumi tries a love match, and the machine tells her Conan and Ayumi are a perfect match. She then tries Conan's fortune, which is "A chance for an A (kiss)"; when Conan hears this he wonders how old that machine is. Agasa then comes, and takes the Detective Boys to the Touto Aeronautic Memorial Museum. On display there, there are many kinds of helicopters and planes. While there, Agasa tries to give a quiz, only to be intercepted by Mitsuhiko. Mitsuhiko's quiz: Three guys, born on New Year's Day, April Fool's, and Children's Day formed a club. What was their club called? The answer: Tonakai (Reindeer). If you add up their birthdays, they become To-na-kai, a kind of gorowase. Once Conan answers the quiz, they see Shishido Eimei taking pictures around the museum. Back at the Mouri Detective Agency, Jo Murakami is shown knocking on the door. When he gets no answer, he leaves.

Ran is shown with Sonoko at the autograph signing of one of the essayist, Minoru Nishina, his books, where she tells him to keep writing "tasty" books. They later go to a café, and Ran mentions the fight that caused Kogoro's and Eri's divorce when she was seven. Ran also mentions that the dinner with Eri is at seven o'clock.

Conan later comes back to the agency to see Kogoro just getting ready. He sees a TV interview on Katsuyoshi Asashi, the owner of the entertainment complex, "Aquacrystal", but Ran turns the TV off and Conan quickly gets ready.

At the dinner at a restaurant, "La Fluer", Eri is shown to be as sharp as ever, predicting that Kogoro would be late because he played mahjong until late. Right after, a professional golfer by the name of Hiroki Tsuji, also an acquaintance of Kogoro's, comes into the restaurant. Kogoro mentions that Tsuji is participating in the U.S. Open.

During a dinner, Ran shows a suprising amount of knowledge about wine, knowing what the grape badge (a mark of a sommelier) was for, what the tastevin around the sommelier's neck is what its for. Conan is shown enjoying the dinner, but Ran later notices that Conan's mouth is dirty, and tries to clean him up. At the moment, Conan remembers his fortune "A chance for a kiss" and blushes. However, Kogoro uses his cloth to clean Conan up, which gets Conan angry. Kogoro and Eri show suprisingly good chemistry during the dinner, and during the converstation Eri mentions 10 years ago when Kogoro and Eri came to this restaurant. But then, Kogoro suddenly notices Peter Ford, a newscaster, near Towako Okano. When Kogoro expresses anger, believing that Ford was flirting with Okano, Eri mistakenly thinks that Kogoro loves Okano, and leaves.

A week later, Megure is shown shot by an arrow while jogging.

Kogoro, the Detective Boys, and Ran come to visit Megure in the hospital. Shiratori tells them that the arrow was shot with a crossbow, and a western sword was found at the scene. Later, Eri is shown at her office, and her assistant gives her a package with Zigoba chocolates inside. Eri eats one, but suddenly falls unconscious, poisoned by agricultural chemicals. However, Eri is not in danger, as she was quickly rushed into the hospital. On the chocolate box, there is a paper flower that seems familiar to Conan.

Conan is later shown with Professor Agasa, the latter fixing up Conan's skateboard, when suddenly the front door is shattered with a rock. When Agasa goes to investigate what happened, he is shot by a mysterious person on a motorcycle.

When the man flees, Conan gives chase on his skateboard, but quickly loses him at a fork. He contacts the Detective Boys to look for a bike, where the Detective Boys give the man's approximate location. When the person sees Conan, he suddenly sharply turns and rides up and down a stairway. Conan tries to give chase, but is distracted by a falling old woman, and loses the person. When Conan returns to the house, he finds a mysterious object, and finally realizes the connection between the sword, the flower, and the strange object, as well as the victims.

The sword, flower, and the strange object are objects held by the King, Queen, and Jack of playing cards. In addition, Megure's first name, Juzo, can be read as 13. Kisaki in English means Queen. Agasa's last name Hiroshi's last character, shi, is a combination of 10 and 1. Megure comes into the room, and tells that Jo Murakami may be the culprit of the serial killing. Kogoro also mentions that it wouldn't be strange if Murakami has a grudge, giving that he arrested the latter before. When Shiratori tries to give specifics, Megure suddenly cuts him off. Kogoro then mentions that he knows someone with ten, or "tou" in her name, Towako. The police quickly rush and place Towako under protection. When Ran and Conan later asks Shiratori what he was going to say, he mentions that Murakami tried to escape arrest, and held Ran's mother as hostage. Despite standard training, Kogoro opens fire on a captor, and eventually left the force.

When Ran later calls Conan as Shinichi, she asks him if he would shoot on a captor. Conan mentions that although Kogoro did shoot Eri, he also mentions if that was the whole truth, and hangs up. At the agency, Conan later sees another person with ten in his name, Hiroki Tsuji. Megure, Kogoro, and Shiratori quickly rush to Tsuji's location, along with Ran and Conan. Tsuji refuses to cancel the trip, but allows Megure and Mouri to escort him to Touto Airport. Conan is later shown to have snuck on the helicopter.

During the flight, Tsuji suddenly suffers sun glare. Conan attempts to land the helicopter at Teitan Elementary. In addition, Conan contacts the Detective Boys, who attempt to evacuate everyone in the schoolyard. However, the helicopter hits a downdraft, causing it to crash. The helicopter later explodes due to a gas leak.

The eye drops that Tsuji used turned out to be mydriatic medicine, making Tsuji's pupils dilate and cause him to be blinded by the sun. Because mydriatic medicine takes from 10 days to two weeks, Tsuji ends up unable to participate in the U.S. Open. Kogoro mentions that he knows no one with nine in their name, but he knows an eight, Kohei Sawaki. Megure, Kogoro, Conan, and Ran visit Kohei Sawaki at his residence. Sawaki turns out to have a somewhat large collection of wine in his apartment, and while Conan is walking, he notices some damage on the floor. Sawaki mentions that he dropped a wine bottle there. Sawaki mentions that he will be going to Aquacrystal, to have a meeting with the owner Asahi about the restaurant over there. At the moment, Shiratori then notices there is a nine in Asahi. Conan and Ran follow Megure and Kogoro over to Aquacrystal, where they meet Osani Nana-san (seven), Nishina Minoru (two), Shishido Eimei (six), Peter Ford (Four) - Last name (Ford) has phonetic similarity to "four." They ride the monorail over to the main complex. Once they get to the restaurant, they notice that Shiratori Ninzaburo has a three. Ran mentions that Shinichi is one.

Osani then challenges Minoru Nishina, saying the restaurant Nishina recommended was terrible. Osani gives Nishina a blind tasting challenge, where Nishina incorrectly deducts Chambertin. Sawaki then correctly deducts the wine, saying it was a Beaujolais Moulin-a-Vent.

Conan gets some juice for Ran, and suprisingly Kogoro takes the other juice instead of drinking beer. When Conan goes and gets some more juice, he notices Sawaki tasting some chili powder. When the crew later browses the wine chamber, Sawaki narrowly dodges a booby trap apparently setup by Murakami. The police realize that Asahi may be already dead. While the crew tries to leave, Nana notices the drowned body of Asahi, and the entrance to the restaurant is locked. The emergency exit is blocked with cement, leaving no way of escape. The rest spread out to look for alternate exits, Nana stays behind with Ran and Conan. When Conan tries to look too, he puts down the juice can and tries to run. However, Ran catchs him. But then, the power cuts, which sends Nana into a panic. When the lights come back on, Nana is found stabbed. When Conan notes the culprit grabbed Nana with the right hand, he realizes Murakami is not the culprit. Conan goes and gets some mineral water for everyone. While everyone drinks, Conan mentions he found the true culprit. At that moment, the lights go off by an explosion. Another explosion causes the restaurant to flood. Kogoro saves Nishina, who is a hopeless swimmer, and Conan notices everyone but Ran made it. It's shown Ran was caught on the car. When Conan tries to save Ran, he ends up getting his leg stuck and goes out. However, Ran gives the oxygen that Conan had given to her in the form of a kiss. Conan quickly uses the elastic suspenders to move the car, and save Ran. The crew later finds another exit due to the flooding. When Sawaki tries to give CPR to Nishina, Conan, using Kogoro's voice, insists that Shiratori do the CPR instead. While CPR is given, Conan knocks out and starts deducing through Kogoro.

He reveals that the culprit was not Murakami due to the fact that Murakami is left-handed, but the culprit was right-handed. He reveals that Kohei Sawaki is the culprit. He notes Sawaki has Aguesia, a disorder that robs the ability to taste. He supports this by the fact Sawaki was tasting chili pepper, while a regular sommelier would never do something like this. He also mentions that while Conan brought mineral water to the crew, Sawaki's cup was the only one with salt. He actually strangled Murakami to death.

Sawaki then attempts to escape while taking Ran hostage. He also sets off more explosives, causing the Aquacrystal to collapse. Kogoro, Megure, and Conan give chase to Sawaki.

When Shiratori points a gun at Sawaki on the rooftop, Conan mentions that because his hands are shaking, it would hit Ran. Shiratori throws his gun as a sign of surrender. When Sawaki sees Megure and Shiratori getting ready to attack, he demands that Conan bring the gun to him. Conan picks up the gun, then realizes why Kogoro shot Eri back then. He shoots, while the bullet barely grazes Ran, knocking her unconscious. Kogoro takes down Sawaki, and helps Conan save Ran. When Sawaki tries to commit suicide, Kogoro saves him. The people remaining leave on the helicopter, Kogoro just realizing he is scared of heights.
